Prospectus

The two year course after S.S.L.C. is named as Higher Secondary (Plus Two) courses and conducted based on N.C.E.R.T. and University syllabi.

1. Details Regarding the Course:

Part I English
Part II Additional Language (Hindi / Malayalam)
Part III Optional Subjects:
Science Group A Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Computer Science
Science Group B Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Biology
Commerce Group Business Studies, Accountancy, Economics & Computer Applications

2. Submission of Application:

Application forms duly filled up together with photo copies of certificates to prove age and qualification (duly attested) should reach the office by registered post or submitted in person on or before the date informed by the school office.

3. Selection of Candidates:

a) Selection for admission to the course will be made by the Principal from the rank list prepared on the basis of merit subject to reservation of SC and ST students and as per the quota fixed. b) The list of candidates provisionally selected for admission will be published in the school notice board with particulars of their rank in the merit / reservation list and the date and time of interview. Candidates provisionally selected may also be intimated through memos sent by post.

4. Bonus Marks:
a) N.C.C. / N.S.S. students 10 marks
b) Students who seek admission in the same school 5 marks
c) Children of Ex-service men / Jawan 15 marks
d) Students who get President's Badge in Scout/Guide 10 marks

5. Ranking of Applications:
a) Science group ranking: Total marks for S.S.L.C. / Equivalent Examination + marks secured in Science and Mathematics + bonus marks if any.
b) Commerce group ranking: Total marks for S.S.L.C. / Equivalent Examination + marks secured in Social Sciences and Mathematics + bonus marks if any.
c) If a tie occurs, students may be ranked by adding the marks secured in English to the above index marks.
d) In the case of students who have taken more than one chance for passing S.S.L.C. / Equivalent Examination, marks will be reduced at the rate of 5 per chance.

6. Interview:
Candidates provisionally selected will be required to appear for an interview before the Principal on a specified date. Those who fail to turn up for interview will forfeit their chance for admission. The candidate at the time of interview must be accompanied by his/her guardian and produce the following documents:
a) Memo card received from the School,
b) The original T.C.,
c) The original Certificate and mark list of the qualifying examination,
d) Conduct Certificate and
e) One passport size photograph.

7. Enrolment:
A candidate selected for admission will be enrolled only after the payment of first instalment of fees. 8. Classes and Examination: The medium of instruction is English. Medium of examination is also English. An internal examination will be held at the end of the first year and the public examination will be held at the end of the second year. Only those students who score 35% of marks in the first year will be allowed to appear for the public examination. Those who fail to score 35% of marks in the first year, however, will be promoted to the second year.
