Geographical Museum

Petrology is the study about various types of rocks and sand particles usually available in the surface of the earth. St. Ephrem's H.S.S. welcomes you to the wondering world of different and distinguished varieties of rocks and sand particles. Our school has got a pioneer position in maintaining a Petrology Museum consisting of numerous and varied forms of rocks, sand particles, minerals and gem stones from different parts of the world.
This museum helps you to be familiar with the different varieties of rocks and sand particles in the world and compare and contrast their features. It will provide a basic idea relating to the structural changes in rocks and sand particles due to climatic and geographical conditions can also be evaluated. This museum is a precious gallery for those who are interested in Petrology.
The important rocks the museum consists of are:
1. Igneous Rocks
Basalt, Granite, Dolerite, Feldspar and Dunite
2. Sedimentary Rocks
Lime stone, Gypsum, Rock salt, Sand stone and Fossiliferous Lime stone.
3. Metamorphic Rock
Gneiss, Schist, Marble and Quartzite
Fossils and different types of minerals are also available.
